The live subway map shows estimated train positions on Line 1 Yonge-University, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and Line 4 Sheppard, with next-train times for every station and direction. Tap a line to see its full station board, or open any station page for next trains, connecting routes and elevator status.
Subway trains don't publish GPS positions, so TrackTo.ca estimates where each train is from the TTC's next-train arrival times, updated every 20 seconds. Slow zones, closures and planned weekend work appear on each line card and on the service status page. Line 3 Scarborough closed in 2023.
Frequently asked questions
- How does the live subway map know where trains are?
- It uses the TTC's next-train arrival times at each platform and works backwards to estimate each train's position. Positions are approximate, but the arrival times shown are the TTC's own.
- What is a slow zone?
- A section of track where trains must run below normal speed, usually while track work is done. Slow zones can add a few minutes to a trip and are listed on the status page.
- Where can I check elevator and escalator outages?
- Every subway station page shows current elevator and escalator outages, and the status page lists all of them in one place. You can also get phone notifications for a station from alert notifications.
- Does the map show planned subway closures?
- Yes. Planned closures appear on the line card before and during the work. The subway closures guide lists this week's and upcoming closures.
