TTC transfers & One Fare
Updated September 2026 · Always confirm details with the TTC before you travel.
How long your TTC fare lasts, and how to pay once when you connect to GO Transit or other GTA transit systems.
The two-hour transfer
When you pay with a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket, or debit/credit card (including mobile wallets), a two-hour transfer is applied automatically when you tap. For two hours from your first tap you can get on and off TTC buses, streetcars, the subway and LRT — in any direction, including round trips and stopovers — without paying again. Just tap the same card each time.
Cash doesn't include the two-hour transfer.
One Fare: TTC + GO and regional transit
With the One Fare program you pay only once when you connect between the TTC and GO Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay (Mississauga) or York Region Transit. It works with a PRESTO card or debit/credit card — not with cash or PRESTO Tickets. Tap the same card on every vehicle.
Line 5 & Line 6: pay before you board
On Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West you tap before boarding at the platform or stop. You can't pay on board. See the Line 5 and Line 6 guides.
Tips
- Use the same card or phone for every tap in a trip, and all month for the 47-trip fare cap.
- If your phone battery dies mid-trip, a physical card is a good backup.
- Plan connections with live arrivals on Near me.
